(Vanessa Marcil in the limited-edition t-shirt)
Earlier this month, Guess partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure and designed a t-shirt in support of the battle against breast cancer. On October 13th, Guess will be launching another special edition t-shirt, this time in partnership with Sojourn Services for Battered Women and their Children. Sojourn is a not-for-profit organization named for abolitionist/women's rights activist Sojourner Truth that provides shelters, hotlines, education and outreach services for victims of domestic violence.
The t-shirt was designed by Ella Marciano, the 16 year old daughter of CEO Paul Marciano, who, along with her mother, fashion photographer Kymberly Marciano-Strauss, was made aware of the organization by daytime soap star and longtime friend Vanessa Marcil. Drawn in purple, the color of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the t-shirt features words of inspiration like "Hope, Love, Courage, Strength, Community and Empower" molded in the shape of a heart.
With this follow up initiative, Guess appears to be proclaiming that giving
back is not a one time thing but a on-going responsibility and that's something we can really get behind.
The shirt will launch October 13th at select retail locations in California and Las Vegas for $24 with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity. You will also be able to purchase it online at www.Guess.com.
