October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it's a pleasure to write about all the companies this year that have been doing what they can in support of cancer research.
Ralph Lauren, whose Pink Pony Fund has been supporting cancer research for a decade, is holding thier first luxury charity auction through website charitybuzz.com. A quick browse through the auction shows big ticket items like a weekend at Ralph Lauren's Jamaican Villa which has a current bid of $47,500 and is valued at $150,000 as well as a ride with Lance Armstrong valued at $20,000. For denimhunters, or Tom Cruise fans, a pair of RRL jeans worn by Cruise in the movie Knight and Day are up for auction. The one-of-a-kind jeans have been autographed by the actor and are valued at $3,000 with a current bid of $500.
The auction runs through October 21st with 100% of the net proceeds going to The Pink Pony Fund which supports programs for cancer screening, early diagnosis, treatment and research, particularly for those in medically underserved communites.
