In Europe. The iconic footwear brand that was almost synonymous with 1980's hip-hop is raising their profile. I admit, I'm not a sneakerhead, so I didn't even know PONY was still in existence until I received the press release. So although they are relaunching for the European market the fact that they are still in business is news to me.
Established in Brooklyn in 1972 the brand will make it's comeback in Spring 2012 with a first look for those attending Bread & Butter in Berlin. Lucky stiffs. The footwear and apparel collection will consist of the" Archive Collection" (above) and the "Product Of New York (P.O.N.Y) collection which is a reinterpretation of classic styles. Also, one other thing we can expect from the brand is the requisite capsule collection. PONY will be teaming up with accessory designer twins Dee & Ricky who can boast collaborations with Marc Jacobs and Casio G-Shock. But the collab won't drop until Fall 2012.
