Several weeks ago I went to Easter brunch at a friend's and had an interesting discussion with some women on the petite side who became pretty heated over what they perceived as the denim industry's discrimination against short women (See "Know What a 'Tuck Under Is? Lea Michele Does It In Citizen's of Humanity Jeans"). Therefore, it was somewhat of a shock for me to learn that tall women apparently have the same problem. At least that's the story behind Karlie Kloss' new "Forever Karlie" denim line with Frame Denim.
"For as long as I can remember, I have always struggled trying to find the perfect pair of jeans for my body," says Kloss. "As a tall woman, it is next to impossible to find a pair of jeans that are long enough to cover my ankles, yet tight enough in all the right places."
Designed to accommodate Karlie Kloss' 6'1" frame, the "Forever Karlie" collection has an unprecedented 40" inseam and utilizes the same fabric technology that prevents "bagging out" as Frame Denim's other styles. It is available in two styles, a skinny and a flare, which in turn will come in two washes. Considering that 6' is a height limited to less than 1% of American women, that's a smart start.
"Forever Karlie" will be available starting June 1st exclusively at Net-A-Porter, Barneys, Jeffrey, Ron Herman and Selfridges.
