There's a litte tiny town in New Jersey called Picatinny, with a little tiny Army base called Picatinny Arsenal, with a small but active community of people who like to give back. It was one of the members of this community that brought to my attention a great cause called "Teens for Jeans" spearheaded by DoSomething.org and Aeropostale.
Teens for Jeans is currently in it's fourth year and empowers teenagers to "take action on youth homelessness". With one out of every three homeless persons being under the age of 18 this is definitely a cause that is overdue for attention.
To get involved all you have to do is drop off your gently used jeans to any Aeropostale store from now to February 13th. Aeropostale will then donate the jeans to a local homeless shelter or charity.
To give is to receive and as thanks for your donation, you will get an additional 25% off your next purchase of Aero jeans. As a bonus, the school that collects the most jeans will win $5000 and a party.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you Picatinny.
