Celebrity obsession J Brand has just announced the relaunch of their e-commerce site www.jbrandjeans.com. At first, upon reading the announcement, I wondered what could possibly be different other than the aesthetics. After all, I'm behind a computer all day and every e-tailer is trying to find a way to stand out in the overcrowded universe that is the world wide web. However, much to my surprise, the aesthetic is the one part they didn't change. The site is much more interactive and caters to the current state of fashion which, with the help of personal style bloggers, devours styling ideas and trends at breakneck speed.
One of the new features is something called "Style Notes". It uses the styling expertise of top editors and stylists to highlight key J Brand silhouettes. Inaugural experts include NYLON editor-at-large/stylist Dani Stahl, Esquire fashion editor/stylist Nic Screws, and LA-based stylist Brad Goreski, each demonstrating their expertise and providing styling tips, some via video content.
Other features include “In the Pocket”, J Brand’s on-site blog which will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the brand as well as host guest bloggers. There's also "J World", an interactive space where users can upload images of themselves wearing J Brand. User-generated images will also augment the online shop as one can click on the photo of their peers and buy the jeans if they are available.
