Taking a break from Fall/Winter 2012 lookbooks, here's the latest from German label ALBERTO for Spring/Summer 2013. Its going to be a hot one in New York City this week, and these refined summer styles are keeping my mind from overheating. From smart business looks to denim, ALBERTO's slacks offer an on-trend narrow fit. Making pants since 1922, the menswear label has a fashion and business line featuring high-quality Italian cotton fabrics, clean minimalist silhouettes and a lack of washed vintage surfaces. Narrow stripes and classic glen checks are standouts for SS13.
With 1950s James Dean and Marlon Brando associations, ALBERTO's 5-pocket styles are a bit more rugged, but come in dandy colors of faded green, yellow, watery turquoise and orange. Still narrow, pants and Bermudas have casual preppy appeal. I am enamored with the all-over tropical floral and parrot print. Retaining the brand's debonair attitude, jeans for SS13 are elegant, bright and light. Red selvedge materials work inside out so that the soft weft side is exposed. Washes range from raw to faded, as well as classic summer white.
