Prince wasn’t known for denim, but he inspired plenty of denim trends.

Prince was my first musical obsession and I owned every album, tape and CD he ever made. Purple was my favorite color and I owned purple jackets and jeans. I used to dissect and agonize over every lyric he wrote (fun fact- if you play the Purple Rain album backwards you’ll find a message hidden there). I truly thought in my fandom that he was no mere human.

Unfortunately, we now know that even icons are mortal. But whether through his music, his fashion or his larger than life presence his legacy will never die.
