Gray is sure to be hot, hot, hot come fall with designers from Balmain to Alberta Ferretti making it the focal point of their denim collections. Actually, calling it gray would be an oversimplification. This is denim that is dyed black than heavily washed and faded for that authentic, fully worn look of a much-loved pair of jeans.
The best part about this trend and the exclamation point on its staying power is the fact that it was used on so many styles. Baggy silhouettes were the dominant style for both men and women, but it could also be found on cigarette legs, wide legs, cropped looks, jackets and on the one pair of skinny jeans I found in all of Fashion Month.
If you’re thinking to yourself, “yeah, but Balmain is a little steep for a pair of jeans”, don’t worry. Traditional denim brands and fast fashion retailers are sure to have plenty for you to shop come fall.
