Harpers Bazaar contained a great editorial/advertisement this month featuring everyone's can't-get-enough-of brand Current/Elliott. The ad/eds feature a model wearing Current/Elliott "Love Destroyed" and Super Love Destroyed" boyfriend jeans respectively. Also featured in the ads are tops and accessories by Elizabeth and James, the contemporary brand of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The ad itself is for a website called chickdowntown.com which features an amazing magazine-style spread on finding the perfect jeans for your body type.
Hello. I am posting this comment due to the AWFUL customer experience that I had with chickdowntown.com. In the month of July, I got married in Hawaii. I wanted to look nice on the islands that we were visiting so I ordered many new clothes and new shoes. Unfortunately, one of the pairs of new shoes came from chickdowntown.com. Now, I grew up in Pittsburgh and was excited to see this store and associated websites going national. I'd seen the ads on the E Channel and was happy that a local store was making it big. BUT this is where the record skips.
When my Amrita Singh sandals arrived, I didn't open them right away. I intended to save them for my honeymoon. At the last minute, I decided to wear them before leaving Colorado. On the very first wearing, the sandals fell apart. In fact, I was in PetsMart when the shoes snapped apart. That was on a Sunday. On Monday, I called and emailed for an exchange but chickdowntown.com never bothered to return my call. I only wanted another pair to wear on my honeymoon. Now that I am back, they refuse to take responsibility for the defective merchandise that they sold to me. When I call them anonymously, they screen my calls, refuse to put a manager on the phone and insult me by blaming the situation on me! I strongly urge you to avoid this retailer. They are not legitimate in my opinion and do not understand the meaning of customer service. BEWARE.

Every time that I’ve shopped at Chickdowntown, it’s been a good experience…some of the best I’ve encountered in my online shopping! Not only do they have beautiful clothes (which you can most likely get a discount on with all of their sweet promos), but their customer service has always been super friendly and accommodating. I always call asking about the sizing of items and they are so helpful.

In my experience, chickdowntown has been extremely helpful when asking questions about the pieces, etc when I called in. I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience, because mine was fantastic - i love the clothes and the site.

Dawn, all you do is post horrible comments because of stupid pair of Sandals! Try spending a little more than $66 on something! They are a great online store and have great customer service! If what you order is not what its suppost to be when you receive it, then call them and return it! You dont wear them and then your fat feet break them and expect to be refunded for something you already wore! Read their return policy lady! Stop your bitching and get over it! :) Have a wonderful day!

I actually have the outfit in the first picture of this post and Its amazing! I have shopped at chickdowntown.com so many times, its probably become an addiction! I love the styles and the look of all their clothes! www.chickdowntown.com rocks my socks!!!!!

no one is denying that the merchandise they sell is super trendy, but their policies are so inferior to those of their competitors, it doesn't even make sense to shop here. their inaccurate pre order dates wouldn't even be such a huge issue if it weren't for the fact that they CHARGE BEFORE THE MERCHANDISE IS AT THEIR STORE. ridiculous and unheard of on internet stores.

Do NOT order an item if you think you may have to send it back for any reason.
Chickdowntown.com is no Amazon.com! Their customer service is non-existent. I ordered two dresses totally $1000. One fit, one did not. I immediately returned a $500 dress, tags and packaging in place and then called to verify it was received. The company had no trouble billing my credit card, but it's been 3 months an I have not gotten credit for the return. And no response to my messages, emails and letter.
I am disputing the charge through my Visa in order to get my money bak. The clothes are beautiful--but I will NEVER purchase from this store again!

Chickdowntown is amazing! their selection of current/elliot brand jeans is great, i have the skinny slouch. LOVE THEM! I haven't had any bad experiences with their customer service, and I'm a regular shopper, (and return-er) This store is great.

this site needs to just shut down. i have been waiting for over a month for my credit. i will contacting my credit card company on monday. there is no reason why it needed to come to this point. i will avoid this HASSLE in the future by shopping with shopbop and revolveclothing.

I dont understand why so many people have problems with chickdowntown.com! They have always been awsome for me! Yes it may take a bit to get a refund, but you get it and they are polite when you talk to them! Theres no need to have them shut down!

I think chickdowntown is fantastic. I think their site is far superior to others as it's easy to navigate and really see each piece. The thing about them having arrival dates - can you blame them? They're waiting for them from the lines. I don't think it's their fault at all.

I placed an order and they charged me at 24/Nov/2008. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY ORDER UNTIL NOW---2/3/2009. I want to cancel the order but they do not reply my email and they never pick up the phone!!!!
Horrible horrible horrible customer service.

All the positive comments here have to be from employees/owners of chickdowntown. It is by far the worse place I have shopped. They are crooks. I can prove it to you. Try calling them. I guarantee you, noone will answer the phone.

they are now in bankruptcy proceedings and selling everything at 50% off although the site is up then down, i think they will be completely shutdown by new year

I have ordered from them several times and gotten my order within three days, so I was always happy. Unfortunately I made an order last month and can't get anyone to email me back about it. It's frustrating because I really want the items I ordered! I guess I was lucky before because I never had to return anything.
