Look for G-Star Raw's advertising campaign for Spring to feature actors instead of models. The brand has tapped Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn to shoot British actor Toby Kebbell who is slated to be seen in the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time alongside Jake Gyllenhaal as well as Romanian actress Alexandra Maria Lara of Miracle at St. Anna and The Reader.
According to WWD, Seven For All Mankind is looking to expand the brand in the Japanese market. Already a presence in Japan, Seven will partner with Global Retail Inc. to open freestanding stores and expand the wholesale business.
"The agreement with GRI will elevate the brand’s visibility with new shop-in-shops at key specialty and department stores" says Giuliano Sartori, VP and General Manager of Seven’s Asia-Pacific division
The first offering of the collaboration between Acne and Lanvin was launched December 17th. Made of the finest Italian fabrics and Japanese denim the line is available only from Acne, Lanvin or the Acne Studios Campaign Shop. We're curious to hear what you think about it.
We just saw this on Denimology and had to share it with you. Apparently, UK-based Red Monkey Company is showing its support for Barack Obama by creating the 'Yes We Can' Jeans. It will be a limited edition jean full of the embellishments we normally expect to see from this brand. Look for it January 09.
In case you haven't heard, all of the sneaker blogs have been buzzing over this news. French label A.P.C. is teaming up with Nike to create a capsule collection based on Nike's 1975 All Star. The sneaker will be made with a canvas upper and comes in three different colors. Look for them this Spring.

If you haven't heard the news yet, Soho staple Lounge is closing its doors in a few days. Apparently they lost their lease, but we suspect they're another victim of our ailing economy. Whatever the reason they are trying to get rid of their stock. Diesel, Miss Sixty as well as other premium brands and designer merchandise has been marked down so far they're practically giving this stuff away. Be sure to go and stock up.
About an hour south of LA lies the city of San Clemente and in this city lies a very unique concept store called Miner49er. Miner49er pays homage to the California Gold Rush and the 49ers that defined that era by stocking vintage-inspired denim made using vintage shuttle looms and construction techniques. Housed in an historic building that is believed to be the third building ever built in San Clemente, the store is a haven for vintage denim aficionados. Brands available include California-based line Denim Design Lab and Montreal-based line Bzen, made with premium selvedge denim and sold alongside vintage inspired tees, books and collectibles.
In addition to apparel, Miner49er also features an in-house museum that focuses on the history of denim and contains original artifacts from the California Gold Rush. Visitors to the store are guaranteed to be in for a treat.
Jil Sander is trying to make an impact in the premium denim market by making tailored pieces for men. According to Denim Blog, the line will be available in stores this Spring and will feature finely cut denim suits of off-white, blue or gray. The pants will be available in slim fit or bootleg that will be paired with skinny, single-breasted blazers.
