Barney's New York: Meet the Designers

Barney's New York is hosting a trunk show for Rag & Bone and Alexander Wang in several locations over then next few months. As an added bonus, those that attend the Rag & Bone trunk show in New York, April 10th from 1pm to 3pm, will have the opportunity to meet designers, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright. Those attending the Alexander Wang trunk shows in New York and Beverly Hills will have the opportunity to meet Alex as well. He will be in the New York location on April 3rd, 2pm - 4pm and the Beverly Hills location on April 15th, 2pm - 4pm.

Denim on the Runway: London Presentation: Gap

Patrick Robinson, creative director of Gap, presented his Fall 09 collection in London this week. The denim-heavy collection consisted of a mixture of all the latest trends, skinny, boyfriend and flare, styled with chunky navajo sweaters and tucked into clunky boots. New for Fall was the denim on denim styling and denim puffy vests. 

According to Robinson the new collection is "about people walking into the store and eyeing things they think might be three times the price of what they'd expect to see, but then finding out they're a fourth of what they thought."

The Unknown Factory Fall 2009 Collection

The brothers of the Unknown Factory, Eli and Moshe Azran have just launched their Fall '09 line and it's pretty fab. With the Unknown Factory it's all about the details and they don't disappoint. Levi's Goes Art House with Sagmeister

It seems Levi's is steadily solidifying itself as an art house muse. Successful collaborations with art-world luminaries Damien Hirst, Jay Jay Burridge and Shepard Fairey prove that this iconic brand is on to something. For their latest project, Levi's has teamed up with famed design firm Sagmeister known for their work with legendary music icons such as the Rolling Stones, Lou Reed of Velvet Underground and David Byrne of Talking Heads. In honor of the Levi's Original Button-Fly 501 jean, Sagmeister has created a series of designs exploring this timeless paragon of jeans. For their work, they took the 501 jeans and explored their origin and mystique, literally stripping the iconic silhouette down to the raw materials that compose its DNA as seen above. 

"Levi's Original 501 jeans have served as the uniform of choice for countless influential artists in recent history. The 501 jean captures the creative spirit and pioneering ideals embodied by the world's most celebrated artists and visionaries from Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Jean-Michel Basquiat to Damien Hirst." said Robert Hanson, president of Levi Strauss Americas.

To commemorate this partnership, Levi's has also teamed up with Los Angeles-based retailer American Rag, creating an exclusive window installation that showcases the series, beginning with the first set and displaying additional pieces over the coming months. In addition, American Rag will distribute highly collectible, museum quality, poster reproductions of the Sagmeister images featured with any Levi's purchase while supplies last.
