With the advent of the skinny jean trend several years ago, it has been very difficult for women that are curvy to find the perfect pair. And by curvy I mean women of all sizes, from 4 to 16, that have an hourglass figure. Enter PZI Jeans.
PZI Jeans was founded in 2002 by Atlanta Attorney's Daniel and Claire Jason and was recently tapped by Inc Magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies in America. Their recently launched Skinny Jeans collection is made specifically for women with curves and comes in ten different styles. PZI Jeans accomplished this spectacular fit by adding more fabric in the hips and rear and tapering the waist.
"We finally had a Skinny Jean that really fits the not so skinny curvy woman! We were very surprised at our customers’ reaction and cannot begin to tell you how fast our PZI Skinny Jean flew off our store’s shelves!” explains Vice-President and Co-founder Claire Jason.
PZI Jeans retails upwards of $70 and are available at select Macy's and over 600 retail stores in the US and overseas.
4 Stroke Jeans, a designer denim label based in New York City, draws it's inspiration from Rock and Roll music, culture and history. Even better, they are a brand committed to minimizing they're carbon footprint.
With an already successful women's line, they are now bringing their environmental sensibilities into their men's collection. For the initial offering, 4 Stroke introduces 100% organic selvage and indigo recycled cottons, both of which are rare in men’s denim. In order to further reduce their environmental impact, 4 Stroke uses technologically advanced water treatment facilities in Mexico that recycles and treats the water used to dye the jeans before it's irrigated back into the land.
For now there are three styles available for fans of the brand – Vanguard (slim), Bowery (relaxed) and Warsaw (slim selvage). The collection was inspired by Alan Ginsberg’s “Howl” and the 50’s beatnik era and offers witty detailing such as the volume knob shank, oversized rivets and a back pen pocket (for the modern poet/beatnik).

This Fall, British denim brand Lee Cooper will launch RDLC, a new directional range that celebrates Lee Cooper's British rock n' roll heritage. With its clean, sexy lines and clever detailing, it will seduce the stylish urban denim lover looking for a quietly sophisticated rock and roll inspired silhouette.
As part of the campaign, Lee Cooper has tapped British band Kish Mauve to star in its print and online campaign. Kish Mauve was chosen because they perfectly illustrate the essence of the collection's inspiration; Rock royalty meets Urban Hipster. Discover the images of the shoot and the soundtrack of the collection on www.leecooper.com. The band’s relationship with Lee Cooper will continue throughout the year, details of which will be posted on www.leecooper.com.

Could it be a new disease? This was the scene at TopShop on opening day last Thursday. It was also the scene on Friday. Then the weekend came and it was to be expected, but then Monday arrived and still there was a line! TopShop Mania has officially hit New York and the only cure it seems will be to open another store. Soon!
Bjork was in New York recently and even though her fashion sense is almost always questionable, we think she might be on to something.
Met Jeans launched Fall 2009 in Harrods as one of only two 100% Made in Italy jeans and is the brainchild of Gege Schiena, a 1970's hippy who established the Americanino denim brand as well as Avirex, and Moreno Giuriato former head of production for luxury brands such as Gucci, Armani and Valentino. For their runway presentation embellishments were key. Ripped and torn jeans revealed a weft of gold chain mail. Black and white portraits were a new take on the printed/graphics trend and short shorts contained all over embellishments and prints. There were a sprinkling of variations here and there seen in clean indigo, colored and white jeans but for the most part, heavily abraded and washed out was the norm.
Look for Oscar Nominee Amy Adams to sport a pair of Met jeans, peppered with Swarovski crystals and colored pearls, in her first film of 2010 Leap Year.
