Helmut Lang designers Michael and Nicole Colovas delivered a presentation for Spring/Summer 2010 where half of the collection was denim. It was a solid confirmation of their announcement a while ago of their intentions to expand the line by creating a stand-alone denim collection.
Fan's of Helmut Lang will be happy to note that the brand is not following major trends, an irresistible temptation, but sticking closely with their own aesthetic. There are some jeggings and skinnies in the collection, after all, commercial sells, but volume is the key feature. Harem pants, paneling on skirts and leggings and layered motorcycle jackets are all signature Helmut Lang recreated with denim. The actual line will carry over 60 pieces and will retail for around $200.
