This Friday, October 16th, from 11am to noon, G-Star Raw will be hosting an event in its Soho store in support of the United Nation's Millennium Campaign. The Millennium Campaign is designed to end poverty in our lifetime by encouraging citizens to hold their governments accountable to the promises made at the Millennium Summit in 2000. Visitors to G-Star's Soho store will be encouraged to partake in a global conversation, through live Skype, with Kenyan youth about poverty, their life experiences and what our governments should do about it.
The global conversations are part of a series being organized by the UN Millennium Campaign this week leading up to "Stand Up and Take Action" this Friday through Sunday, where people will gather at events across the globe to demand that world leaders eradicate poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Last year 116 million people participated breaking a Guinness World Record.
Former male supermodel and reality TV host Tyson Beckford will be on hand sharply at 11am to kick-off the conversation.
