German-based brand Closed has quite the backstory. They were founded in the late 1970's in Italy and credit themselves with being the creator of the pedal pusher. Although not well-known in the US, they have a solid following in Europe and have been featured in numerous editorials in some of our favorite glossies, including Vogue Paris, Marie Clare France, Grazia, Glamour UK, InStyle, GQ and US Weekly. They also have a pretty impressive celeb following which includes fashion darling Sarah Jessica Parker who wore them in the Sex and the City movie, stylist-extraordinaire Patricia Field and Katie Holmes.
The brand, owned by friends and business partners, Gordon Giers, Hans Redlefson, and Til Nadler considers itself a family enterprise that focuses on creating sophisticated casualwear.
