GUESS and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) are coming together to launch the GUESS Design Challenge during the Annual FIDM Debut Fashion Show.
The FIDM Debut Show selects ten gifted students each year to present their first fashion collection of up to 12 looks. This year, among each students collection, will also be a denim-focused GUESS look using washes previously chosen by the GUESS design team, and judged by a group of GUESS executives
The winner of the challenge will be offered the position of Design Assistant by Maurice Marciano, Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder, GUESS and have their winning design incorporated into the upcoming season.
"One of our strengths at GUESS is keeping our brand relevant to the ever-evolving consumer and in order to do so, we must find young and innovative talent, such as the highly gifted students we are partnering with at FIDM,' says Marciano.
"This wonderful design challenge typifies the commitment of GUESS, Inc to create opportunities for young people," says Mary Stephens, FIDM Director of Fashion Design. The Annual FIDM Debut Fashion Show benefits the FIDM Scholarship Foundation.
