Brand to Watch: Easton

You would consider it a no-brainer if I told you that denim is a product with a global reach. You may also consider it a no-brainer if I said that denim manufacturing spans all parts of the world; although certain regions specialize in different stages in the pipeline (i.e. finishing in LA, denim from Japan). When we consider the brands we wear, however, we think of either American, European or Japanese brands.
There are others that have made an impact on us like Turkish brand Mavi, but for the most part our knowledge of the brands we wear are pretty much limited to those three regions. So it was somewhat shocking to me to learn of Easton.

Easton is a new denim brand based out of Indonesia. I will admit, I was skeptical at first, but I consider myself a fair person and try to look at all the brands that come into my inbox. It's not always possible with the amount of emails I get, but I do try. After checking out their website I was pleasantly surprised. First, they had the primary prerequisite for a brand that wants to be considered premium; Selvage denim. They also have a small but solid offering of mostly men's jeans with the skinny jean being unisex.

The brand is only a year old, but so far has seen success with 70% of sales coming from Indonesia and an impressive 30% of sales coming from abroad (Australia, US and UK). Their bestsellers so far are the Backspin, a selvage slim regular fit and the Throne, a coated skinny jean.

Right now, Easton jeans can be purchased at their online shop but there are plans to expand. I, for one, am looking forward to following their progress. Learn more about Easton at www.thisiseaston.com.
