Edgy. Gritty-Glam. Rock & Roll. Those are the words that come to mind when viewing Serfontaine's Fall 2010 lookbook. It's also the same way I would describe the collection which is a nice combination of sleek, chic denim mixed with hardcore, but tasteful, embellishments. This theme is prevalent throughout the collection making the one pair of "clean" jeans seem out of place. For example, body skimming skinny jeans, with very little visible treatment, were rocked out with stretch sequined panels on the thigh or studded from ankle to knee. Heavily destroyed jeans revealed little skin and were instead lined with either tiger-patterned mesh or sequined leg panels. My favorite of the collection were the skinnies with the stretch suede paneling on the thigh. They aren't the most flashy but they definitely caught my eye. Denim jackets have a similar motif with back panels covered with tiger lace or leopard print sequins.
On a side note, I'm not sure if the accessories are part of the collection or just used for effect, but I really want that spiked eyepatch and the Gaga-esque shoes. Kudos to the designers for a great collection but hats off to the stylist for putting it together.
