You know how other brands, apparel or otherwise, are always saying "these are not your father's so and so"? You know. Like it's a bad thing. Well Levi's, the original denim brand, does a good job of reminding us that they actually are our father's jeans...and grandfathers, and great-grandfathers and so on and so on. What's amazing about this is, not only do they embrace this fact, but they also manage to make us embrace it too while simultaneously displaying how progressive they are at the same time.
Last week, Levi's celebrated the opening of a new premium concept store in New York City's uber-trendy Meatpacking District. The band Vivian Girls performed while guests took in the merchandise which includes offerings from the Levi's Vintage Collection ---an archival reissue line which includes replicas of 501's from the 1890's--- as well as their most recent collabs , Levi's Workwear by Filson and Levi's Workwear by Pendleton.
The store also includes a tailor shop with prices ranging from $20 to adjust a hem to $50 for a full-taper of the inseam.
A packed schedule kept me from going to the opening day but I will definitely be stopping by to check this place out.
