Women's Wear Daily (WWD) released a 312-page issue yesterday commemorating 100 years in the business. The highlight of the issue is "The 100 Remarkable Moments" which are significant events that have impacted the fashion industry from the rise of Coco Chanel to the influence of hip hop.
One hundred years, whew, that is a long time and the archives of the magazine must be extensive enough to populate a museum. Now wouldn't that be cool.
In honor of the Anniversary Issue, fashion's most elite designers have created one-of-a-kind pieces to be auctioned off for charity starting today and ending on November 18th, at CharityBuzz.com. Items include an Alberta Ferretti "Dream" gown valued at $8,000, a Dolce & Gabbana Cocktail dress valued at $5,850 and a Tommy Hilfiger vintage Jeep Wagoneer valued at $35,000 and a Tom Ford Limited-Edition fragrance set valued at $5,580.
