55DSL Collaborates with Street Photographer Alex Fakso

 

 

55DSL hosted an event in their Soho store last night kicking off their recent collaboration with street photographer Alex Fakso called "Fast or Die" in honor of his new book of the same name.

The collaboration involves a collection of graphic tees printed with original photography taken by Fakso. Most were printed portrait style with the photograph contained in a rectangular block. However, a standout tee showed a visual of a train tunnel and was an allover print with so much depth it felt as if y0u could step into the scene.

I admit, I'm not that familiar with Alex Fakso's work but am quickly becoming a fan after flipping through his book. It's filled with underground imagery of metropolitan areas from all over the world which Fakso captured over a five year period. Some were taken while he slept on docks or snuck into train tunnels. Now that's what I call suffering for your art.
