7 For All Mankind Fall 2011 Preview
7 For All Mankind held their Fall preview at the Club Room of the uber-trendy Soho Grand Hotel and it was the perfect backdrop for what the brand is offering for Fall.
After reaching their diamond anniversary this year there are sufficient archives to revisit past trends and what is Seven known more for than the popular bootcut that single-handedly kicked off the modern premium denim movement. That now classic silhouette has been updated and reintroduced in several styles for Fall to coincide with the reemergence of the bootcut; and how fun it will be to wear 7 For All Mankind bootcut jeans again. Unlike Spring, where the brand mostly promoted the flare leg silhouette, the bootcut isn't the only big push for Fall. A cropped cargo style called the Aviator is also being introduced in the line. A cropped cargo isn't exactly new, however, it is new to see it promoted for the Fall/Winter season.
Menswear seems a lot more fun and daring then the classic styles we normally see from Seven. Articulated knees on coated jeans are worthy of Harley-Davidson and reverse-denim details on the waistlines and hems are noteworthy details.
Last but not least childrenswear was just too cute. Especially the logoed bibs which would be perfect for that token hipster baby. Think the Williamsburg artsy couple who has to bring their baby to PS1 for the Warm-Up. And say what you will about skinny jeans on toddlers. All principles go out the window when you see how adorable they are on the rack.
