"Powder of Diesel" Event Celebrates Make-Up Inspired Denim
Diesel teamed up with Make Up Forever to host an event at their Lexington Avenue store called"Powder of Diesel". The event was to promote a subset of their Spring 2011 collection which consists of pastel colored denim in vibrant pinks, buttery yellows and mint greens. It may seem an oxymoron to describe pastels that way but the pictures speak for themselves. The powder reference comes from the inspiration behind the line which was, daduhdadahhh, make-up.
While we browsed the collection Nylon Magazine Editor-at-Large and resident 'It' girl, Dani Stahl, was available to offer style tips. In my case, I saw the jeans she was wearing (mint green) thought they looked great and tried them on myself (see the dressing room pic). They looked great on me too so I got them. Having someone to look to for inspiration sure cuts down on fighting-for-space-at-the-rack time.
Other guest tried on jeans from the collection and walked around in them for the rest of us to admire. Which we did. One girl was so stoked to try them on she forgot to take off the sensor. I hope they caught it before she left.
Make Up Forever had a station set up for guests and gave free makeovers. I told the girl to go bananas and she did my face in glittery green eyeliner and red lipstick. I loved it. I took that home too; but then, I was already a fan of Make Up Forever.
