Vincent Gallo is the New Face of G-Star RAW for Fall
G-Star has signed on controversial actor, director, producer Vincent Gallo to be the new face of the brand alongside gorgeous british actress Gemma Arterton for their Fall/Winter 2011 campaign.
Gallo, who might be best known for the uproar surrounding his arthouse film Brown Bunny which featured an unsimulated oral sex scene between himself and indie 'it' girl Chloe Sevigny, has also worked in experimental music, performance art and surprisingly, was a Grand Prix motorcycle racer. He is certainly a multifaceted, intriguing and highly unapologetic character which makes him a great fit for G-Star, who tends to do the opposite of what's expected in their push to create a 'mindstyle' as opposed to merely a lifestyle.
The campaign will go live mid-September and I'm looking forward to seeing the juxtoposition of Gemma's soft femininity next to Vincent's gritty persona. It's a contrast that black and white photos, standard in G-Star ads, will pick up beautifully.
Different from past seasons, all outfits used in the campaign will be marked with a special hangtag for easy identification in G-Star stores.
