GQ Best New Menswear Designer Alexander Wang's "T by Alexander Wang X Dockers" Collection

Is there anything that Alexander Wang can't do? Seriously. Anything? On top of his eponymous line he has a successful sportswear line and just recently opened his first store. This kid has got the midas touch and the fashion industry can't utter his name without sighing. And he's only 27. Makes you feel like an underachiever doesn't it?

Recently the designer won GQ's Best New Menswear Designer, a program launched in collaboration with the CFDA in 2008, for his T by Alexander Wang line. This is his second win from an award affiliated with the CFDA, having won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2008 for his womenswear line.

Like past winners, Wang was tasked to create a limited-edition collection that would be sold in Bloomingdales. However, unlike past winners, the collection is not a collaboration with Levi's but with their Dockers brand. Along with Wang, the nominees were tasked to provide a fresh, new take on Dockers as well and their designs will be sold alongside the winner's as part of the complete collection. Very smart move on the part of Levi's brand who has been trying to modernize the Dockers brand for quite some time.

The other nominees are Riviera Club, Miller’s Oath, Warriors of Radness, and CFDA members Patrik Ervell and Michael Bastian. Their designs were unveiled alongside Wang's yesterday at Bloomingdale's Fashion's Night Out event.
