Brand to Watch: PROTOCYCLE
Italian brand Cycle introduced a denim capsule collection last season called Protocycle. Protocycle, a mash-up of the word prototype and the brand name, are designed to be one-of-a-kind jeans made of Japanese and Italian denim.
Protocycle continues into the Fall with additional fits and treatments. Going to Italy to check them out is out of the question, but the images we received are of dark, distressed jeans that have a baked quality to them. Relaxed fit jeans are a rarity outside of Middle America or anyone, anywhere, under the age of 45, but Protocycle's version (above) might mean this men's style is ready for an update and a comeback. I'm also intriqued by the smoky, hazy quality of the women's cigarette leg jeans. Take note of it girls. I've seen this more than once this season.
To further emphasize the craftsmanship of the collection, all of the jeans are packaged in parchment paper with a wash-color treatment specially created for Protocycle where ever color layer is applied by hand.
