7 For All Mankind, Spring/Summer 2012 collection preview

The beachy, bohemian vibe of 7 For All Mankind's Summer 2012 collection was a welcome respite from last week’s unseasonably harsh weather here in New York. Held at the label’s impressive rotunda-like showroom in the heart of the Garment District, the event featured a collection steeped with exotic travel references. Big on the runways last season, a relaxed yet chic jet set mood is now inspiring lifestyle denim.

Ikat denim treatments, whether genuinely dyed or printed, pervade the collection on preppy collared dresses, relaxed pale blue boyfriend skinnies and summer short shorts. For guys, rust color bottomweights complement this season’s woven chambray pullover shirt and indigo-dyed hoodie.
