American Apparel is Launching a Bonafied Men's Denim Line.

 

Maybe it's the fact that American Apparel had a unisex line, or maybe it's because lately men with a skinny jean obsession prefer women's jeans, but I always just assumed they had a line of men's jeans. So yeah, kind of surprised right now to know that after all this time they are launching their first denim line for men called "Men Jeans: Regular 100".

The men's jeans will be a relaxed fit with a 1950's style silhouette. I'll say it again, relaxed fit. Yep, it's coming back. These, however, are not your dad's jeans and have a tapered leg that stops above the shoe and a dark resin denim wash.

"We've come up with a truly authentic pair of jeans, something the market has lacked for a long time. The fit and styling is the result of extensive testing and feedback, which when combined with American Apparel’s obsession for quality and my 30 years of experience in denim, makes for the perfect men’s jeans,” said Georges Atlan, Director of denim at American Apparel.

Saying that the market has lacked a truly authentic pair of jeans might be a little bit of a stretch, but it will be interesting to see how modern men style this silhouette.

The jeans will be manufactured in Los Angeles, of course, and will be available in a limited-edition run of 1000 pairs from sizes 27-36. The jeans hit stores worldwide this week.
