GUESS by Marciano, Spring/Summer 2012

Tonight, I attended the Spring/Summer 2012 preview for GUESS and GUESS by Marciano in the penthouse of the Dream Downtown -- currently one of the city's major hotspots. I've been to the hotel's Sunday pool parties, but was excited to get up to see the penthouse -- absolutely stunning! In addition to hosting yet another exciting event (complete with mini crab cakes, a fantastic DJ and lots of champagne), GUESS also presented two solid lines.

GUESS by Marciano takes a relaxed approach to modern glamour this season, pushing an exotic jet-setter mood. Relaxed cropped blazers easily pull together summer looks when pairing with short shorts or lightweight wide-leg denim slacks. Rolled sleeves on blazers and airy boho scarves are key styling tricks. Sea foam green cropped skinnies are perfect spring staples, while the metallic snakeskin print version is a sexy statement-maker. Silky floral or ethnic print tops further the global perspective of the line. What I liked best about this collection is the wide pants paired with the cropped jackets… nice proportion play!
