April,May lookbook, Spring/Summer 2012
Inspiring whimsy and Western Americana notions while maintaining elements of Parisian nonchalance, French label April,May takes a playful "Cowboys and Indians" approach for Spring/Summer 2012. Creating proportional juxtaposition, skinny jeans and tight leather- and fabric-blocked minis pair with voluminous tops (often tucked in) and cropped jackets.
The babydoll shirtdress with Native American-style embroidery looks sweet yet chicly urban, and is sure to be a lead silhouette come spring. Tribal embroidery motifs extend to jeans, but avoid becoming clichéd via pairings with ultra luxe sequined tops and moto-inspired black leather jackets. Tie-dye pieces, leather jewelry and decorative fringe look new alongside the olive drab Capri skinnies and the active-y, remodeled V-inset top.
