Levi's Fall/Winter 2012 runway show

The chilled-out "Brooklyn apartment" vibe of yesterday's Levi's runway presentation was a welcome change after a Fashion Week of on-the-go hustle and bustle. So, while the show was standing-room-only, I was able to (figuratively) put up my feet. And the Brooklyn Lager helped as I waited to see what Levi's would put down its runway. Beyond showing the new collection, Levi's succeeded in bringing a strong dose of scruffy, sexy denim lifestyle to the runway, showing us just how Levi's should be worn.

Repurposed looks, workwear overalls, tailored sack coats and vintage chambray merged with bike messenger-length pants and rugged trucker shirt-jackets (for him), and coated denim, maxi skirts and retro flares (for her). Bedford corduroy, electric blue plaid, cotton drill and ripstop worked in alongside raw and Japanese selvedge denims. Performance characteristics and vintage elements also came together, offering functional active-influenced wearability while remaining on trend.
