My top denim picks from London SS13 men's runways come from CHRISTOPHER SHANNON and MARTINE ROSE. The UK has long been a style inspiration and pioneer for punk to dandy versions of classic jean jackets, and this season designers are offering new shapes, constructions and surface effects.

Like puzzle pieces, playful embroidered patches (ranging from hot dogs to matryoshka dolls) evolve a slim trucker silhouette by Christopher Shannon. I also love his chav-ish coach's jacket made from frayed denim strips. Martine Rose opts for retro baby blues for both jackets and jeans. Citrus and aqua color-blocked sleeves and chest panels will refresh street looks for SS13.
