Because #Sneakerporn is #Shoeporn: PONY X Foot Patrol

Pony Foot Patrol Sneakerhead Shoe Porn

If you're a sneakerhead than you've probably already been all over this, so you'll have to bear with the rest of us that are adding high top sneakerporn to our shoeporn fetish.

Pony hasn't been a top brand since the 80's, but they still have a solid niche following, mainly consisting of retro sneakerheads. However, now that high-tops are all the rage among fashion folk, thanks in part to counterculture models like Cara Delevingne, we can branch out beyond the ubiquitious wedge sneaker. I mean, seriously, when is it going to end. #wedgefatigue

Pony's recent collaboration with UK shop Foot Patrol, aptly called PONY X Foot Patrol, is the perfect mix of classic, retro and cool. A feat for what is simply an old school basketball sneaker. The collab riffs off the basketball cultures of New York and London with two competing sneakers each with the name of the cities on their laces.

The sneaker is only available for a limited time and exclusively at Foot Patrol in London. But US customers have no fear, theirs a website

It's a Manhattan Portage and Meltin' Pot Mashup!

Manhattan Portage bags are everywhere in, well, Manhattan. Especially among young guys who don't want to carry a murse, manbag or mocketbook. They are so ubiquitous to have almost become an invisible part of the wardrobe. You know, that item that is so common you don't even notice it anymore. Kinda like skinny jeans.

Maybe it's this reason (or maybe not) that they've teamed up with denim brand Meltin' Pot on a "one of a kind" collection of tablet cases, backpacks and messenger bags made of denim and Manhattan Portage's signature 1000D Denier Cordura. I put one of a kind in quotes because making bags out of denim with camo print is hardly new, but in their defense, it is Manhattan Portage's first collaboration with an Italian brand.

The collection will retail from $65 to $252 and will sell at their respective retail outlets.

What do you think? Would you carry Manhattan Portage's new bags?

Black Orchid by Julien Jarmoune's Fall 2013 Lookbook is a Skinny Jean Mecca

Last Spring I was able to preview Black Orchid by Julien Jarmoune's Fall 2013 collection first hand when it was presented concurrently with the Spring collection. Black Orchid is the skinny jean lover's brand as they do the skinny style formerly known as "the jegging" the best in my opinion. It's a combination of just enough stretch, but the feel of brushed cotton for a soft hand that make it one of my go to brands.
Flip through the lookbook for a skinny jean mecca of baroque, velvet, corduroy and traditional indigo styles.

Nasty Gal Lovers Will Love Ruby Starling

Edgy girl online boutiques like Nasty Gal have a huge following and there's no denying that they've had a significant impact on fast fashion styles in the short time they've been in existence. So much so, that brands that once would have been on the fringe are now mainstreaming.

Take Ruby Starling, a relatively new brand based out of LA. Funky, fresh, rock and roll pinup is how I would describe their distinct velvet short shorts and the liberal use of fringe. It's not for everyone, but those into it, will be all over it.

Flip through the slideshow to see the entire collection.
