Diesel Home Collection Fall 2013
Diesel invited the press to view their Fall Home collection presented in three different showrooms. And it turned out to be a cozy little evening tour of Soho.
Three Italian design companies that seemed to specialize in specific areas like lighting, living and bedroom partnered with Diesel on three collections. My first stop was Foscarini for the lighting collection. Diesel, departing from modern design elements, took inspiration from various musical and industrial elements for pieces like cage drop lighting, drumbox lamps that literally looked like monstrous luminous drums on lamp stands, as well as lamps inspired by vintage headlights.
My second stop was at Scavolini to view the Diesel Social Kitchen. It was a sleek kitchen of greyed wood that managed to look both old world and new world. A bonus were the glasses of Nero di Rosso red wine being served from Diesel's own winery. It was delicious! I have to find out how I can get my hands on a bottle.
Last, I stopped at Moroso to view what I called the Diesel Bedroom. With turntable motifs on glass coffee tables and chairs that evoked the colors of distressed denim, it was literally like seeing the Diesel guy (or gal) transformed into home furnishings.
Enough talk! Visuals are better. Click through the thumbnails below to see the rest of the Home collection. If you're in Soho, stop by the showrooms yourself for a first hand look.
