Fun Coachella Denim that Should Go Mainstream

Coachella has come and gone. The once insider music festival has become so well-known that alongside lists telling you what to wear are now lists on what trends need to retire (hint: knee-high gladiator sandals and feather headdresses).

Although festival season is used as a source of street-style inspiration, there are only a few trends that proliferate beyond the seasonal culture. I think that should change, don't you?

Scroll down to see just a few denim looks I think should go mainstream..

DIY Patches

Stores like Who.A.U actually sell patches in their stores so you can D.I.Y. or have them D.I.F.Y. (Do It For You). coachella, street style, festival, diy denim, best denim shorts and skirts, spring 2014

Pin on

When done wrong you could look like a refrigerator magnet, but when done right these childlike pins have a whimsy quality that pops right out at you. The key is to keep it playful.

Floral cardigans over distressed shorts

If it's plain, it's not the same. These robust florals prints on flowy cardigans work so well over bleached out or distressed denim short shorts and offer a lot of styling options.
