Barneys New York Hosting Limited Edition J Brand x Rob Pruitt Collaboration
When art and fashion collide it is a glorious thing and when that collision occurs with denim, it is truly magnificent.
Contrary to what your eyes are telling you, the image above is not an illusion created by photoshop. It is actually a limited edition collaboration between artist Rob Pruitt and J Brand Jeans available exclusively at Barneys New York. At this point you're probably viewing the photo again trying to discern if I'm pulling your leg. I assure you it's real. Pruitt has perfected the art of gradient painting and is widely known for the technique.
The collection features four styles for women and two for men in vibrant variations of dégradé. For women, mid-rise skinnies come in blue/green, red/purple, ink/cobalt and black/grey variants. A stretch skinny in black/grey and red/navy variants are available for men as well as a vintage jacket that is hand-painted by Pruitt.
To celebrate Barney's is hosting events in New York and Los Angeles where Pruitt will use a spray booth to create bespoke, custom-painted skinny jeans and jackets for women and select men's styles on site.
Expect it to hit stores October 15th at select flagship stores and Barney's ecommerce site with a retail price of $325 for a ready-made pair or $950 for a custom pair. Steep, I know, but can you really put a price on art?
