Denim on the Runway: Gold Plated Jeans #MFW #Fall2015
When Jeremy Scott sent a panoply of gold and indigo down the Milanese runways in the form of disco ball denim, it seemed typical of Scott who's eccentric designs stand alone when it comes to fashion. However, this season his designs put multiple exclamation points on a style that was being introduced, albeit more subtly, by other designers.
Whether adding gold embellishments to denim shirts, dresses and jeans or going the safer route and wearing standout gold accessories in jewelry, handbags and shoes, gold and denim is a look that will certainly catch on in the mainstream. If it doesn't happen this fall, surely it will the next.
If that happens, it will be new territory for Scott who can be so eccentric in his designs I sometimes wonder if he's making fun of our penchant for wearing whatever the industry deems cool. Seriously, we have to bow down to the man who gets us to covet Moschino dresses inspired by McDonalds fries.
