Rihanna and Manolo Blahnik Cook Up Denim Desserts Shoe Collection
Rihanna is solidifying her bad gal status with a number one song, a runway show and her second collaboration in as many months.
Just like with her partnership with Puma, her collaboration with Manolo Blahnik has achieved the same thing -though on a scale that's much more in keeping with the famed shoe designer's legacy. The collection called Denim Desserts takes classic Manolo styles and reworks them with the bad gal in mind. Pointy toe boots are reimagined into chaps using denim fabric and crystal embellishments. The Manolo Chaos sandal, a Rihanna signature shoe, has also been reworked with the same materials.
The collection was supposedly inspired by her tattoos. I'm guessing that inspo can be seen more in the embellishments than in the shoe shape itself, but who can tell when it comes to the creative mind. What I do know is it's just like Rihanna to model the most unwearable shoe in the collection for her April British Vogue cover and don't be surprised if you catch her in a few paparazzi photos in this shoe as well.
The collection hits stores in May and will come in six limited edition styles. The prices range from $895-$3,995.
