I have it on good authority that True Religion is about to make a comeback. Actually, I saw it in a video. A video where an incredibly hot guy bursts through a door followed by his equally hot entourage swaggering and smoldering through a room in head to toe denim while other hot people look on as the camera pans from chiseled cheeks to butt cheeks when, finally, they all stop to cheer on hot guy... playing a ping pong game. Well done, True Religion. Well done.
DL1961 recently embarked on their first foray into the childrens' denim market by launching a performance denim collection called ACTIVEX. Intentional or not, the timing of the launch couldn't have been more brilliant, but first details about the collection.

Denim, leather and leather-like looks dominate the DL1961 Fall campaign. Missing are the boyfriend, slim-straights and crops which they do have. Instead they chose sleek silhouettes in the form of the basic skinny and buttoned-up styles (see In the Showrooms: DL1961's Colorful Boyfriend Styles and Two-toned 90's Jeans). However, I can personally attest that DL1961 slim boyfriend jeans are my personal favorites so don't discount them because they're not in the campaign.
Some techy stuff about DL1961 you might find interesting is the introduction of odor-repelling technology similar to what's used in activewear. Nice! This will make more of my jeans pass the sniff test when going on the fourth or fifth or eighth wear. Anywhooo..

Whenever I talk about Wrangler, I always want to announce "this is not America's Wrangler", because what they sell everywhere else is so much trendier.
Wrangler Australia's Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook is amazing and no it's not late. Remember seasons run different down undah. And it what's important down under must be different too because everything is high-waisted. Love.
Wrangler US has it's fans and if cowboy and cowgirl attire hits big again they'll be glad they remained steadfast in their resistance to change, but until then at least we have online shopping to cling to.

Ever have that moment when you feel like you're the last one to know? Last night, when I found out that Kendell and Kylie Jenner launched a collection for PacSun I began to realize that a good healthy dose of FOMO isn't always a bad thing. Not only do they have a collection, it's ongoing and they are in their fifth season!
The fifth Kendall & Kylie PacSun collection dropped today and it is full of boho chic, music festival favorites like bell bottom jeans, fringe cardigans and fedoras. At first I wondered why they would launch this collection so late in the summer but then boho is very popular in LA so it's not that far-fetched to release a collection like this near back to school season.
Save a few pieces, there is nothing in the collection over $49 and even those above that price point go no higher than another 10 bucks. With the older Jenner's burgeoning credibility as a high fashion model and streetstyle star, her sartorial approval on anything with that price tag will have her fans stocking up.
Scroll down to see more pics of Kendell & Kylie for PacSun. What do you think?

Okay, so there was like this big secret that I was in on and it was so hard to keep a secret but I did because I didn't want to be that guy, you know, that guy that can't keep a secret, but it's oh such a great secret to reveal. So here goes...
Buzzworthy eyeglass brand Warby Parker has just released a brand new series called the Beacon Collection. Surprise!!!
I got an advanced look at it last week and it's pretty amazing. The collection is inspired by all-nighters and the name is a nod to the morning star that is visible just after sunset and just before sunrise. The frames are intended to be a reflection of this and I think Warby Parker pulled it off rather nicely.
In the literal sense, the Garrett frames are meant for both prescription lenses or tinted lenses for frames that can be worn as everyday glasses or sunnies. Hell, go for transition lenses and do both I say. I mean, we are talking all-nighters here. There's nothing like being in a dark club for hours and walking out at daybreak. My eyes! My eyes! Ahh memories. But I digress.
Beyond the inspiration, there is a specific quality that I like about the collection. Each of the four styles has a just-shy-of-subtle design feature like the flat browline of the Garrett or the angled brow of the oversized Nancy that makes them perfect for those of us who want to be unique, but not outrageous. My favorite of the collection is the McKee. The round frames are fun and the two color options, clear light gray and tortoise shell, are spot on and hard to choose between.
In the spirit of the collection, the campaign images were shot downtown Manhattan and follow two party-goers from sunset to sun-up wearing all four styles. They can be purchased on the Warby Parker online shop as of today.

When I visited the Guess showroom several months ago, I was completely and utterly enamored with the western theme that was the brainchild of Creative Director Sharleen Ernster (read In the Showrooms: GUESS Fall 2014). And now, having seen the campaign images, I'm finding more reasons to love it.
The images were shot by longtime Guess collaborator Ellen Von Unwerth who kept it authentically Nashville by shooting models Gigi Hadid (Guess who her famous parents are) and fellow Sports Illustrated model Samantha Hoopes. Along with Bojana Ksrmanovic and Yara Khmidan the quartet is photographed in various denim-centric looks as Guess Girls exploring the nighlight, music and shopping of Nashville.
Already on my wishlist are the high-waisted skinny jeans (above). High-waisted jeans are so underrated. They bring out curves in even the most androgynous shapes. They also flatten tummies, lift derriers and add length to the leg. Guess's version hits right at the skinniest part of the waist giving maximum effect to all of these coveted attributes. Need it. Want it. Now. Like, right now.
Not to be left out, Guess Guys Silviu Tolu and Nick Fouquet do rock cowboy like a boss styled in denim and leather layers that are inspiration for both guys and gals.
Expect to start seeing the full campaign in all your favorite fashion mags soon. In the meantime, scroll down and start putting together your fall wishlist.

If Sports Illustrated cover girl Lily Aldridge looks like that in XOXO, I wonder what it will do for me? Delusional, sure, but isn't that what we all are thinking? I know, I know...Marketing 101. But did you ever think you'd be thinking such things about XOXO?
It's been a long while since the brand has had my attention as a competitive brand. Once popular in the 90's, fast fashion chains like H&M and Forever 21 have long since stolen the spotlight, and the customers, from department store juniors' brands, but as I always say, fashion is cyclical and every once-forgotten brand can leverage it's obscurity to stage a tremendous comeback.
Is this the case with XOXO? Well, let's look at the facts. Correction, the fact (singular). Lily Aldridge. The Victoria's Secret beauty recently shared the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, an achievement that can be described as winning one of the Triple Stakes of modeling (Campaigns, Media, Runway). With her soon to be a mainstream name, if not a household name, XOXO's use of her as the face of their campaign is pretty smart.
With that said, a comeback is nothing without substance, and in this case the substance is the clothing. So will the product meet the hype? Well, that remains to be seen.
Are you ready to stock your closet with XOXO again?

Old news. Yes. Rihanna's latest foray into fashion has been news for 24 hours already. It's rare for me to cover uber-luxury brands, expensive gowns kinda don't fit with the whole DenimHunt thing, but I couldn't help but notice Rihanna in a high fashion, and super edgy take, on denim on denim in one of the campaign ads for insanely overpriced luxury brand Balmain. Looking at the images, at first glance I thought, love her hair. At second glance I thought, who would wear that?. At third glance I thought, I think I would wear that.
