Diesel's Ass Kicking Sneaker Campaign Will Have You Laughing Out Loud. Yes It's That Funny!

 

Diesel's campaign for their Fall/Winter 2010 sneaker collection is not centered on the foot but solely on the ass. The ass you say? Yes Asses, I say. As a matter of fact, they have a whole collection of photos of feet clad in Diesel sneakers connecting with...you guessed it...asses. But before I go even further let me get the PSA out of the way.

For Fall. sneakers come in two style groups the "Claw" and the "Treatments". The Claw group has a side-strap which is a major characteristic of Diesel sneakers. The Treatments (doesn't the name sound like an indie rock group?) consists of just that, embroidered logos, treated materials and custom soles. 

Now back to the asses. Along with the ass-kicking photos, Diesel has released a video that is high-larious to the highest hilarity. Basically it's a giant sneaker on wheels, chasing after a giant ass. A GIANT ASS! Like it's ass all around with one hell of an ass crack. I seriously laughed hysterically when I saw the ass peaking around rocks or blowing smoke through it's ass-hole....at the sneaker...James Bond style!

I love this campaign! Brilliant!

G-Star RAW has come up with a way to give us an in-depth glimpse into their world by debuting RAW Magazine for Autumn/Winter 2010.

I was able to get my hands on a copy a few months ago and will admit that my first thought was how much can one brand put in a magazine, but those thoughts were immediately shut down as I browsed the pages. The company has a ton of initiatives and the mag goes into great detail about them. Inside is information about the current ad campaign featuring actress Liv Tyler and chess champ Magnus Carlsen with images from their photoshoot. Also find out about capsule collections like RAW Essentials and special techniques like 3D denim. 

During Fashion Week in London, a Pop-up News Kiosk was placed in several busy locations. Currently, at Paris Fashion Week there was a Pop-Up Hijack  at the Chanel and Chloe shows. Oh, how I wish I could have seen that.

Style of the Day: Charley 5.0 Fully Armored Dress

 

Denim dresses have really made the most amazing impact this Spring and surely you would agree with me when I say they've become a coveted item to complete your wardrobe. In my opinion, this is due to several reasons. 1) The technology to create and treat denim as a fabric has advanced to the point where we no longer have to worry about a dress that's stiff and immovable. 2) Brands have expanded finishings beyond basic washed-down indigos, black or, ewww, acid wash. Let's leave that for the People of Wal-Mart. 3) Design teams have realized that you can create gorgeous silhouettes that are wearable on any occasion. Case in point, Michelle Trachtenberg's red carpet look, Kristin Cavallari's slim body-con dress, or Emmy Rossum's spaghetti-strapped babydoll dress.

Charley 5.0, a company known for taking denim beyond the basic five-pocket jean, makes some of the best dresses on the market. Their latest creation is the super cute Fully Armored Dress that is made with gray denim. I will admit bias because I own this very item and have fallen completely in love with it. Because of this, however, I can personally attest to a flattering fit and, at the risk of sounding cliche, a look that can go from day to night. I said it before and I'll say it again, the bootcut is back. Last season we saw a bootcut silhouette slipped quietly and discreetly into many a collection, hiding among the plethora of skinny jeans and jeggings. Only a handful of brands have been openly declaring its return and the latest is Hudson Jeans.

Hudson recently launched the "Beth Baby Boot" jean which is a super-slim bootcut of the kind I used to like to wear at the height of their popularity. A low-rise and a subtle flare adds height and lengthens the legs while the inky indigo wash is abraded in all the right places that make bootcut jeans so flattering to the body.

Style of the Day: Skinny Cargoes

Denim cargo pants are pretty much one of the hottest things to happen to a pair of women's jeans this year since the addition of spandex. Add that to the fact that the military trend that fashion editors like to say is new every season is once again new, it seems only fitting to slap on some cargo pockets on a pair of skinnies to get a bonafied hit. 

J Brand was one of the first companies to have the foresight to take advantage of this trend. There was a time when I couldn't go a week without talking about some celebrity who was wearing their Houlihan cargoes. I hope the designer who thought it up got a nice bonus for that one. Now other brands like AG Jeans, Chip + Pepper and most recently Black Orchid have come up with their own versions of the skinny cargo. Variety is the spice of life, or something like that, and it's going to be great to see how this trend will evolve with all of these brands putting their own spin on it.

The Jean Machine is Back With the Vans Warped Tour

Attention Teens! Last year Amethyst Jeans toured alongside the Vans Warped Tour and gave away an insane amount of jeans to event-goers. This Summer, they're at it again. From July 1st to August 1st, the pink truck known as the Jean Machine will be joining the tour for 26 dates and giving away 18,000 pairs of limited-edition jeans. 18,000 might be pushing the idea of "limited", but they're free, so who cares.

Each date of the tour, the Jean Machine will give away 600 pairs of jeans and t-shirts to event-goers as well as winners of the Amethyst Jeans Facebook giveaway. As a bonus, some of the bands performing at Vans Warped Tour will be show up at the Jean Machine to do daily signings and take fan photos. Pre-tty Cool. 

L.e.i. and Teen Vogue Have Found Their New Model Citizen

After an extensive nationwide search that took over several months, had over 7000 entries and received over 42,000 votes, the L.e.i. Jeans/Teen Vogue competition to find the new L.e.i Model Citizen is over. 

The grand prize winner, and all around lucky girl, is Alexandra Brooks (center). Along with the voting public, Alexandra was handpicked by judges Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Amy Astley, designer Rachel Roy, model Chanel Iman and model Ali Michael for "best exemplify[ing] the tenets of L.e.i.-life, energy and intelligence."

Alexandra walks away with a $100,000 scholarship for college, an internship at Teen Vogue, an appearance in L.e.i.'s Fall 2010 national advertising campaign, a fashion makeover, a complete L.e.i wardrobe and a trip to LA to attend Teen Vogue's "Young Hollywood" party. Wow!

Also receiving prizes are second and third place winners, Jazzlyn Marae (right) and Amy Wilson (left) respectively.

Diesel's 55DSL Will Have You Desperately Searching for Foosball Lessons

This April, 55DSL, Diesel's younger, urban brand, is launching the Galactic Battle of Foosball. Seriously! Before I go into the details, just know, that the prize is a trip to South Africa. What!
